How Do Octopus Fixed Tariffs Work?
In short, your unit rates and standing charge won't change for the duration of your contract.
Is The Monthly Payment Fixed?
No. The monthly direct debit amount is based on estimated energy usage. If the customer is using more or less energy than anticipated the monthly payment can be adjusted up or down.
How Long Can I Fix Prices For?
Octopus fixed contracts typically last for 12 or 24 months but some fixed business tariffs are for 36 months.
What Happens At The End Of The Contract?
Octopus will contact you 45 days before your contract expires and provide you with some different choices of tariff. If you don't want to enter another fixed contract, you'll be moved onto the Flexible Octopus Tariff automatically.
What Fixed Tariffs Are Available From Octopus?
All available tariffs will be shown during the sign-up process. You'll see names like Helpful Octopus, Super Green, One Utility Bill, Just Move In Planet Friendly, Goodlord Tenant, Octopus Green Business and Loyal Octopus. Most of these tariffs are also available for those with Economy 7 meters. Octopus Fan Club is available via both fixed and variable tariffs.
