What Is Octopus People Power?
Similar to the referral scheme for Octopus customers, People Power is a way for charities, schools and community groups to earn £50 by referring customers to Octopus.
How Does People Power Work?
It's very simple. All you do is register by telling Octopus a bit about your school, charity or community project and Octopus will send you a unique referral link which you can start sharing with your friends, family or anyone else who would like to switch to Octopus. After they’ve signed up and Octopus have received their first payment, your organisation will be due £50 and they’ll get £50 free account credit.
How And When Will I Get Paid?
Every month, Octopus will confirm how many people signed up with your referral link and therefore how much money you're owed. Your organisation can then invoice Octopus and the payment will be made into a nominated bank account. Octopus will ensure that it’s paid within 30 days. When you hit certain milestones (e.g. 5, 10 or 20 referrals), Octopus will reward you with vouchers to spend on plushies, t-shirts and other Octopus swag on Shoptopus.
How Can I Share My People Power Referral Link?
As for the customer referral scheme, there are no limits as to how many people you can refer, but you're not permitted to spam third party websites (like Trustpilot) and paid advertising of your referral link isn't allowed either. Octopus also prohibits setting up of accounts or profiles which use the Octopus name or branding.
Can A Business Join Octopus People Power?
No. There is a separate referral programme for businesses called Current Account.
