What Is Octopus Current Account?

Current Account enables businesses to bank £50 every time they refer someone new to Octopus. If you’re a charity, school or community group, you can register for People Power instead.

How Does Current Account Work?

Once you're an Octopus customer, visit the Current Account webpage and get your unique referral link by telling Octopus a little bit about your organisation. Then give your link to customers, employees, friends or family and once they’ve signed up, your organisation will get £50 and they'll get £50 free energy credit.

How And When Will My Business Receive The Referral Reward?

Every month Octopus will let you know how many people signed up using your referral link and how much money you're owed. Your organisation can then invoice Octopus and they'll pay your rewards money into your nominated bank account within 30 days. The new customer you introduced to Octopus will receive £50 free account credit when their Octopus account is set up and their first payment has been successfully taken.

Are There Any Restrictions On Sharing My Referral Link?

You're not permitted to spam third party sites with your referral link, such as adding it to your review on TrustPilot or spamming Octopus social media. Sponsored/paid advertising (like Google ads) is also prohibited. In addition, Octopus request that you don't set up accounts or profiles which use the Octopus name or branding, as this might lead people to believe that you're an official Octopus account.
