What Is Octopus Electroverse?
Instead of using a multitude of different cards and apps to charge your car, Octopus have set up Electric Universe (Electroverse for short) to simplify your charging experience, with one-tap access to a vast network of chargers via the Electroverse app and Electrocard.
How Do I Use The Electroverse Network?
Just sign up and Octopus will send you an Electrocard by post. You can start charging on any Electroverse charger right away with a single tap of the Electroverse app or you can wait for your RFID card to arrive. You can also manage your account, payment details, Electrocards and more through the app.
Some electric vehicles now have their own app stores within the car itself and include features such as in-built navigation which integrates with your car’s dashboard. With the Electroverse app on your phone, CarPlay and Android Auto apps are automatically available when connected to your vehicle. With in-built navigation you can push destinations straight from your phone to your car, filter for specific types of charger and search for the nearest chargers.
Do I Have To Be An Octopus Energy Customer?

How Would I Be Billed On The Electroverse Network?
If you're an Octopus Energy home electricity customer, any charges on the Electroverse partner networks will appear on your Octopus home energy bill, although you can choose to pay by card if you prefer. If you're not on supply with Octopus, you'll receive a single bill for your public charging on the Electroverse Network, which you can pay by credit or debit card at the end of each monthly billing period. Just set up your payment details via the app or the Electroverse website.
How Much Does Charging On Electroverse Cost?
With Electroverse you pay the same fees as the network providers charge. Octopus simply pass on the cost and sometimes there's even a discounted rate for Electroverse members. The latest pricing for each network and every specific charging point is shown in the Electroverse app. Electroverse doesn't charge any ongoing or transaction fees.
Which Operators Are Partnered With The Electroverse Network?
Octopus are working with over 1,300 charging networks across the world, including IONITY, InstaVolt, Fastned, ChargePlace Scotland, ubitricity, TotalEnergies, Applegreen Electric, Mer, Blink, Shell Recharge, Lidl, Scottish Power, Arnold Clark Charge, Porsche and Osprey. New partners are being added all the time, so even if there aren't many compatible chargers in your area just yet, you can still join Electroverse and Octopus will inform you when new providers come online.
Are There Any Benefits For Octopus Customers?
Apart from the convenience of being able to pay for public charging through their home energy bill, Octopus Go customers receive a 5% discount off all public charging through Electroverse and Intelligent Octopus Go customers receive an 8% discount. Currently, Octopus customers also get £10 free charging credit.
Where Can I Download The Electroverse App?
You can use the Electroverse Network with just your RFID card, but the Electroverse app is also available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. With the Electroverse app you can find charge points, check your charging and payments history, manage your account and confirm the latest pricing for each provider and any specific charging point.
How Do I Sign Up To The Octopus Electroverse Network?
Just head to the Electroverse website and sign up in under 30 seconds. Then simply log in and start charging the same day. Octopus will then post you a personalised Electrocard which you can start using immediately.
